Food Poisoning

Today in a hawker centre, many people were poisoned by the food. Sadly, I was one of them too. I sat down with some chicken rice from a famous stall. The chicken was not properly blanched and therefore had a lot of blood stains on it, but I felt it was okay as it was cooked properly. I began eating the rice and ate something crunchy. I recognised it as some uncooked rice, and passed it away.

The moment I got home, my stomach kept rumbling, then my throat was filled with partly digested food. I regurgitated into the basin, then I felt another rumbling. "Oh no, not again," I thought. I rushed to the toilet and had the runs, with the feeling that I was a rocket taking off. What was worse is that when I went out, I went straight to the bedroom and curled up like a shrimp, being wrapped around a blanket due to the extreme "cold". The poisoning was so bad that I had to go to the doctor for treatment. It was fortunate for me that they resolved in two days, whereas other unlucky casualties died from the poisoning.

Some people suspected that it was contaminated with flies or had been left out for too long. I think that it was simply because the birds who came here were unhygenic. I also spotted many birds at the hawker centre, and some of their droppings on the table. Some birds are so daring that they still stayed at the customers' tables even though the customers tried to shoo off the birds. What was worse, yet hilariously funny, was that one man could actually pick up the bird and put it 30 metres away from the hawker centre!

I also saw many insects passing around the hawker centre floor. I wish that the stall owners would take care of their food properly and dispose their waste products properly such that it would not attract pests such as rats and cockroaches. I am angry at the stall owner, but I am not writing this to complain about him. I simply want people to be more wary about hygiene. Here are photos showing some of the problems pigeons cause:
